A Modern Boho Wedding — Haley & Austin

Haley and Austin’s wedding is a special one for me! Haley has been a friend of mine since 2nd grade, and I had the privilege of being her Matron of Honor as well as working as a wedding vendor. Here I wanted to share Haley & Austin’s story and details of their wedding day.

Haley and Austin met at the Rustic Cafe in Delphos, Ohio in February 2018. Here is the short version of the story from the bride:

“I had always asked why my friends and I got ready to go out because we’d never meet anyone there. One of my friends had been dating one of Austin’s friends for a little bit and one night she introduced Austin and I to each other! We went on a couple dates and made it official by the end of the week!”

Sometimes the perfect person comes along when you least expect them!

Haley & Austin chose navy, rust, and copper hues for their late autumn wedding. Set against the beautiful backdrop of fall colors at Crimson Lane, it was the perfect palette choice for the modern-meets-boho design. The tables were covered in rust-toned linens and finished with tall geometric with ivory florals and pampas grass. At the reception, guests (and the newlyweds!) enjoyed a cozy and modern lounge setup designed by Aspen Jean Planning. It all came together with gorgeous fall florals from Frances Floral Design and the most beautifully hand-crafted cake from Spencer’s Sugar Shop!

When planning the stationery for their big day, Haley and Austin wanted a blend of organic and polished, modern and boho. We worked together to bring this vision to life, satisfying the modern and polished end of things with custom monogram crest on the ring box, detail card, and wax seals. We kept the rest of the design more on the boho end of the spectrum with loose foliage illustrations, an arch-top invitation, and a casual hand drawn script for the bride and groom’s names. The color palette is seen throughout with navy and metallic copper envelopes and envelope addressing in rust hues.

When it comes to signage, the couple wanted their timeline sign and escort card display to be sleek, modern, and minimal. We designed a hand-painted acrylic piece for the timeline sign, featuring a terra-cotta color and large minimalistic icons to display for guests. The escort display was made of navy blue handmade paper cards scripted with copper ink. The cards are secured on a wire backdrop and topped with a sleek white-painted acrylic piece, finished with a beautiful floral installation.

The four photos below are my personal photos.

Haley and Austin’s wedding day was filled to the brim with laughter and SO much fun. Trust me when I say, these people know how to throw a party! Throughout the day I could tell by the way they look at each other and at their friends and family surrounding them that this was the day they had dreamed of for a long time. Itwas a joy and an honor to be part of their big day. Congratulations and all the love for Mr. & Mrs. Wolke!
